Ultrasound medical center in Sichuan Cancer Hospital has a long and glorious history in disease diagnosis. Our team is made up of 12 doctors, including 2 chief physicians, 3 attending physicians and 7 residents, one of them are doctorate and 8 of them have Ｍaster degree; We also have 5 technicians, and 4 nurses. All of the staff are not only well educated, but also energetic and experienced .
Our department is equipped with 13 color Doppler ultrasound and a variety of great probes, which can conduct different kinds of examinations, such as abdomen, superficial small organ, gynaecology, vascular and cardiac. On the one hand, we have emergency diagnosis, bedside examination for someone who cannot go to the department and intraoperative ultrasound; on the other hand, we also carry out some new techniques, for example, CEUS, interventional ultrasound, gastrointestinal ultrasound. We receive 320-400 patients per day,100000 patients one year .
The center not only pay attention to clinical service for patients, but also vigorously encourage and support clinical research development.We have undertaken one project of National Science Foundation of China, five provincial Foundation,published 6 articles of SCI. Holding national diagnosis and interventional therapy of cancer continuing education courses and gastrointestinal ultrasound continuation education training class. We adhere to learning in department every Monday morning and Wednesday afternoon, including case analysis, lectures, English literature study.
Our characteristic:
1) Contrast enhanced ultrasonography (CEUS): Since 2006, ultrasonic microvascular imaging has been performed in our department, and we conducted the most CEUS examinations nationally every year. On the one hand, we examined in some entity organ such as liver, kidney, paranephros, pancreas, breast, thyroid, gynecological disease；Furthermore，some luminal organs were also performed in CEUS marvelously，gastric and intestinal disease for instance. We also have received many advanced doctors from different province to our department for studying CEUS.
2)Ultrasound of superficial organs and soft tissues: the development of superficial lymph node, the trunk and limbs soft tissue, thyroid, breast, the scrotum and the peripheral nerve of high-frequency color Doppler ultrasonography.
3)Gastrointestinal ultrasonography: This novel technique has been widely accepted by patients and doctors, particularly popular in those who are not willing to do the examination of gastrointestinal endoscopes, such as elderly and children. It has become a routine examination before operation in the department of gastrointestinal surgery, and our department is also one of the gastrointestinal ultrasound training bases.
4)Ultrasound-guided aspiration biopsy and treatment of various parts of the body: There has been a significant improvement in biopsy success rate (especially for aspiration biopsy of thyroid gland, breast mass and lymph node with the nidus less than 1cm). And meanwhile, puncture and drainage in pleural effusion, pericardial effusion and seroperitoneum
5) Ultrasound-guided radiofrequency ablation (RFA) treatment: We perform RFA under ultrasound-guided in tumor, which have creditable results in most HCCs and metastatic tumors.
6)Intraluminal ultrasound: we carry out transrectal ultrasound in rectum, prostate disease, gynecological examination and biopsy by transvaginal ultrasonography.
7)Echocardiography: We performed routine echocardiography examination before surgey, and diagnose cardiac tumor occasionally.
8)Musculoskeletal ultrasonography and interventional therapy: diagnosis of peripheral nerve diseases, shoulder, knee, children with congenital hip joint, tendon sheath, muscle disease. Be good at the interventional treatment musculoskeletal system diseases with the ultrasound guided.
9)Gynecological ultrasound: Cervical cancer, endometrial cancer, ovarian tumor could be diagnosed in our department, we also could evaluate the effective of radiotherapy and chemotherapy by conventional and combined with CEUS.
