The Department of Urological Oncology is a professional oncological surgery department with perfect physician team and strong technical force. The multidisciplinary team consists of highly educated urologists with medical doctor and Ｍaster degrees, including 6 senior professional title, 1 Ｍaster tutor, and 2 academic technology leaders of Sichuan province. The nursing team makes continuous innovations and receives high praise from the patients. We have complete equipment, such as OLYMPUS and WOLF urological endoscopic equipment, STORZ laparoscopic equipment, EMS pneumatic ballistic lithotripsy system and so on, so as to ensure a high level of diagnosis and treatment.
We focus on genitourinary tumors’ diagnosis, treatment and prevention, including malignant and benign tumors of the prostate, bladder, kidney, adrenal gland, ureter, urethra, testis, spermatic cord, epididymis, penis, perineum and other genitourinary organs.
As a center focused on cancerous disease of urological system as well as male genital system, we are specialized in the surgical treatment cambined with adjuvant or neoadjuvant chemotherapy, radiotherapy, endocrine therapy, interventional therapy and biological therapy in order to significantly enhance cure rate and survival of these patients. We were the first department in west China where the comprehensive bladder-preserved treatment of invasive bladder cancer was carried on, much longer progression free survival and overall survival was observed in the patients enrolled in this treatment. So far we can expertly carried on laparoscopic radical nephrectomy, laparoscopic nephroureterectomy, radical cycstectomy combined with ileal conduit or continent reservior, laparoscopic radical prostatectomy, inferior vena cava tumor thrombectomy of renal carcinoma, retroperitoneal lymph node dissection of testicular tumors, laparoscopic adrenalectomy, transurethral resection of the prostate, transurethral resection of bladder tumor, ureteroscopy, et al. We can also carried on selective renal artery embolization as well as internal iliac arterial infusion chemotherapy cooperated with interventional department. We still focus on the non-cancerous diseases of urological and male genital systems, such as infectious diseases, urinary calculi, malformations, urinary incontinence.
During these decades we have lunched several research programmes concerning the biomarkers as well as epidemiological surveys of bladder cancer, prostate cancer and testicular tumors. We have hosted numbers of national scientific fund projects and other provincial issues, we have published 2 treatises and dozens of research papers. We still engaged in the training programme of postgraduates elected by Guangxi medical university and Guiyang medical college.
