On Sept.29-30, President Lang Jinyi led the team to visit Huntsman Cancer Institute of the University of Utah in US. There is Director Li Tao from radiotherapy center, Director Feng Mei from Head&Neck radiotherapy department, Physicist Lucia from radiotherapy center and Director Chen Changmin from basic research center in the team.
On Sept.29, Mr. Lang and the team made a visit to radiation therapy department of Huntsman Cancer Center. On behalf of the Center, Dr. Ying Hitchcock express warmly welcome to the team. Dr.Salter, the director of radiation therapy department and physicist Hui Zhao show the area of department to the team. There are 10 doctors, 10 physicists, 7 dosimetrists, and more than 10 therapists in the department. There are 5 accelerators for treating about 120 patients per day. Lung cancer, prostatic cancer, and breast cancer are the most popular diseases treated here. Also, the team observed the ultrasonic monitoring technology carried out in radiation therapy process. Then, Dr. Hitchcock, Dr. Salter and Dr. Gaffney communicated with the team in detail to searching the opportunity of collaboration with each other.
After discussion, both had great willing to cooperation and went to get related certification and Ｅxecution in the future, which will be a good platform for the hospital to play on the global stage.
The hospital got much benefit from this visiting. Mr. Lang sent gracious invitation to the group of the center to visit China, and showed the willing to collaboration on new technology and clinic research.
