01. Sichuan Cancer Hospital Exhibits Radiotherapy Center's Achievements at the 66th ASTRO Annual Meeting
The 66th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) was held in Washington, D.C., from September 28 to October 2, 2024. ASTRO is an internationally leading association in radiation oncology, drawing over 11,000 participants to its meeting each year. Our Radiotherapy Center/ Sichuan Provincial Key Laboratory of Radiation Oncology/Institute of Oncology and Medical Engineering of the University of Electronic Science and Technology shone at this conference, with 14 contributions accepted. This includes one Outstanding Abstract Award and one oral presentation, highlighting the significant achievements.
02. Professor Peng Lin's Team Wins Top 10 Research Honors at AATS International Thoracic Surgical Oncology Summit 2024
The AATS International Thoracic Surgical Oncology Summit, which took place in New York from September 27 to 28, brought together thoracic surgery experts, scholars, and clinicians from around the world. At this summit, the team led by Professor Peng Lin at Sichuan Cancer Hospital was recognized for their research poster as one of the top 10 studies, receiving considerable attention and high praise.
03. Sichuan Cancer Hospital Completes Renovation Projects at the Wuhou Campus during the National Day Holiday
To improve the medical environment and boost patient satisfaction, Sichuan Cancer Hospital took advantage of the lower traffic during the National Day holiday and completed four projects, including the landscaping of campus roads, which has significantly refreshed the appearance of the campus.
04. The Endoscopy Department at Tianfu Campus Officially Opens
Following extensive preparations, the Endoscopy Department at Tianfu Campus officially began operations on October 8. The opening of the Endoscopy Department has improved the diagnostic and treatment services at Tianfu Campus. Patients with routine endoscopy needs no longer travel between the two campuses, offering them a more convenient and efficient healthcare experience.
05. Sichuan Medical Science and Technology Education Center Visits the Department of Nuclear Medicine at Sichuan Cancer Hospital
On October 11, a delegation led by Bi Mingshuai, the Director of the Sichuan Medical Science and Technology Education Center, visited the Department of Nuclear Medicine at Sichuan Cancer Hospital. The delegation explored talent development, trends in technological innovation, and achievement commercialization in the field of nuclear medicine as well as the department's facilities and ongoing operations. Li Chao, Member of the CPC Committee and Vice President of Sichuan Cancer Hospital, along with relevant staff, received the delegation.
06. Sichuan Cancer Hospital Launches Medical Insurance Patient Service System
On October 11, Sichuan Cancer Hospital successfully launched the medical insurance patient service system. This system allows patients to complete the application and assessment processes for outpatient special services and special medications online, including the ability to obtain and renew prescriptions online. This innovative initiative reduces the number of patients' trips to the hospital and significantly enhances their overall healthcare experience.
07. Sichuan Cancer Hospital's Radiotherapy Center Engages in Research Exchange with Gemelli Isola in Italy
The CyberKnife is a state-of-the-art radiation therapy technology. Sichuan Cancer Hospital has gained significant clinical experience and research achievements in CyberKnife treatment. On October 11, at the invitation of Gemelli Isola Hospital in Rome, Italy, Professor Lucia and Professor Yin Gang from the Radiotherapy Center participated in the first academic conference centered on CyberKnife applications.
08.Sichuan Cancer Hospital Holds Mobilization Meeting for 2025 National Natural Science Foundation of China Project Application
To effectively prepare for the 2025 National Natural Science Foundation of China project applications and improve the quality of proposals submitted by our researchers, the Research Office held a mobilization meeting on the morning of October 12 in the International Academic Hall. The meeting was presided over by Vice President Li Chao and attended by more than 300 doctors and personnel with senior professional titles at Sichuan Cancer Hospital.
09. World Thrombosis Day — Join Hands to Fight Thrombosis and Build a Great Wall of Health
October 13, 2024, marks the 11th World Thrombosis Day. To raise public awareness of thrombotic diseases and promote effective prevention and treatment strategies, the Department of Intensive Care Medicine at Sichuan Cancer Hospital organized a series of activities, including "VTE In-Hospital Lectures", public health consultations, and patient education, benefiting over 400 individuals in the community.

On the morning of October 14, the Second Medical Humanities Lecture Tour Themed "Stride on Health Road and Forge Ahead for a New Journey" was launched at the International Academic Center of Sichuan Cancer Hospital. This event was hosted by the Health Commission of Sichuan Province and organized by Sichuan Cancer Hospital. During the lecture, Dr. Li Qiang, Chief Mentor of the Department of Thoracic Surgery at Sichuan Cancer Hospital, shared his insights from years of medical practice. His speech effectively captured the spirit of Sichuan Cancer Hospital's medical community, highlighting the dedication, guardianship, and legacy of healthcare professionals in the hospital.
13.Sichuan Cancer Hospital Launches "World Standards Day" Publicity Activity
October 14 is the 55th World Standards Day. In celebration of this day, our Medical Affairs Department (Infection Control Department) partnered with the Nursing Department and the Publicity and United Front Work Division (Science Popularization Department) to create a promotional campaign themed "Strengthening Standards to Promote High-Quality Development". To effectively promote the concept of standardization, the campaign featured a blend of online and offline activities.
14. Yi Qun, Secretary of the CPC Committee of Sichuan Cancer Hospital, Led a Team to Visit Siyuewu Village, Aba Prefecture for Rural Revitalization Research and Outreach Activities
From October 15 to 16, Yi Qun, Secretary of the CPC Committee of Sichuan Cancer Hospital, led a team to visit Siyuewu Village, Rangtang County, Aba Prefecture for rural revitalization research and outreach activities. The team and village officials held a meeting on rural revitalization in the activity room of the village. Sichuan Cancer Hospital donated a variety of supplies to the village leadership for rural revitalization efforts and delivered care packages to the resident officials and two needy households. Furthermore, Sichuan Cancer Hospital partnered with the People's Hospital of Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture to hold a joint free clinic as part of the support efforts. Medical staff from Sichuan Cancer Hospital participated in the clinic to offer health consultations to the villagers.
15. Staying True to Our Original Purpose and Upholding Medical Ethics: Sichuan Cancer Hospital Organizes a Warning Education Activity at Jintang Prison
To implement the guiding principles of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, the Third Plenary Session of the 12th Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection, and the Party building and integrity work conference held by the Commission's Leading Party Members' Group, and to further strengthen warning education, on the morning of October 17, a team of near 180 members led by Yi Qun, Secretary of the CPC Committee of Sichuan Cancer Hospital, visited Jintang Prison to participate in the warning education activity themed "Staying True to Our Original Purpose and Upholding Medical Ethics". Other members included Fan Wei, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of Sichuan Cancer Hospital, Xie Huajun, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee and Commission for Discipline Inspection of Sichuan Cancer Hospital, Liao Hong and Lu Man, Members of the CPC Committee and Vice Presidents of Sichuan Cancer Hospital, as well as middle-level staff, personnel in key positions, and staff admitted over the past three years.
16. Strengthen the Rule of Law and Deepen Law-based Hospital Management
On October 18, Sichuan Cancer Hospital held the Second Legal Advisers Meeting. The meeting was chaired by Lu Man, Member of the CPC Committee and Vice President of Sichuan Cancer Hospital. Present were lawyers Jiang Min and Li Shuping from Tahota Law Firm, as well as Wei Dong and Zhang Liangyan from Beijing Weiheng (Chengdu) Law Firm, along with relevant department heads. At the meeting, participants engaged in in-depth discussions on legal issues related to the hospital's medical and economic management activities. This meeting is an important initiative of Sichuan Cancer Hospital to strengthen the rule of law and deepen law-based management practices.
17.Sichuan Cancer Hospital Launches "Internet + Nursing" Door-to-door Service to Support the Whole Process Management of Cancer Patients
To expand the field of nursing services and diversify service delivery methods, Sichuan Cancer Hospital is actively exploring management systems, service models, standards, and operational mechanisms for "Internet + Nursing Services" that are specifically tailored to the unique needs of a cancer specialty hospital. Recently, the "Internet + Nursing Services" information platform at Sichuan Cancer Hospital was officially launched. Utilizing the hospital's nursing studio, it offers home care services focused on oncology nursing, including vascular access care, ostomy and wound care, and nutritional care.
18.2024 Labor Union Staff Training Meeting of Sichuan Cancer Hospital Successfully Completed
On October 22, Sichuan Cancer Hospital successfully held a training meeting for labor union staff to further enhance their overall quality and service capabilities. This training aimed to improve the service levels of labor union staff, thereby making a greater contribution to the hospital's development of new quality productive forces and the well-being of its staff.
19. Sichuan Cancer Hospital Successfully Completed the "Light of West China" Talent Training Program under the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee
Recently, under the guidance of Professor Li Chao, head of the Department of Head and Neck Surgery, Sichuan Cancer Hospital completed its first one-year "Light of West China" talent training program. This initiative is a collaborative effort by the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Deng Zehai, Deputy Director of the Medical Affairs Department at the Honghe Prefecture Third People's Hospital in Yunnan Province and a specialist in Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery, completed a year of standardized and systematic training. He has returned to his home institution, where he is applying the advanced medical techniques and management experiences he acquired to benefit local patients and contribute to the development of his hometown.
20. Sichuan Cancer Hospital Selected as a "Chinese Research Hospital"
Recently, the results of the 2024 evaluation for Chinese research hospitals were officially announced at the Chinese Research Hospital Association Summit. Sichuan Cancer Hospital was recognized as a "Chinese Research Hospital", standing out among 173 participating institutions. This honor highlights the significant contributions Sichuan Cancer Hospital has made in cancer diagnosis and treatment, medical innovation, clinical and basic research, and the translation of research findings into practical applications.
21. Sichuan Cancer Hospital Successfully Holds the Medical Work Conference for Q2 2024
On the afternoon of October 24, Sichuan Cancer Hospital held a medical work conference for the second quarter of 2024 and a meeting for the report on the activities of various committees at the Academic Conference Center. The event was attended by the hospital’s leadership team, all middle-level staff, Party committee and branch secretaries, medical team leaders, quality control personnel, and infection control staff.
22. Expert Panel from Sichuan Cancer Hospital Visits Ganluo County and Xide County for the Tour of Provincial Medical Tour Team in 2024
In line with the 2024 National Medical Team Medical Tour Work Plan and the 2024 Provincial Medical Team Medical Tour Services and '10,000 Medical Workers Serving the Community' Volunteer Service Activity Plan, Sichuan Cancer Hospital, as the leader of the provincial medical tour team, dispatched eight experts to Ganluo County and Xide County from October 14 to 27. They provided medical services such as disease diagnosis and treatment, as well as health education. The free clinic activities covered over ten specialties, including radiation oncology, urology, orthopedics, and internal medicine. Training for local medical staff was conducted through outpatient consultations, lectures, teaching rounds, and case discussions. The activity served more than 300 community members and trained over 180 local medical workers.
23. Deepening Cooperation and Mutual Learning between Sichuan and Xinjiang to Promote Enhanced Cancer Prevention and Treatment in Western China
On October 29-30, Yi Qun and Fan Wei, Secretary and Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of Sichuan Cancer Hospital led a team from various departments, including the Party Office, Organization and Personnel, Publicity and United Front Work, Medical Affairs, Nursing, Cancer Prevention, and Outpatient, to conduct a research and exchange visit at the Xinjiang Medical University Affiliated Cancer Hospital. Xiu Yan, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee at Xinjiang Medical University and Secretary of the CPC Committee of the Xinjiang Medical University Affiliated Cancer Hospital, along with the hospital's leadership team and heads of several administrative departments, engaged in discussions and collaborative exchanges with the delegation of Sichuan Cancer Hospital.
24. Sichuan Cancer Hospital Conducts Activities for Breast Cancer Prevention and Treatment Month and Pink Ribbon Month
As October is Breast Cancer Prevention and Treatment Month (Pink Ribbon Month), Sichuan Cancer Hospital carried out a series of science popularization and education activities. Breast specialists participated in the live broadcast of "Sichuan Observation - Health Observation Room" and the special Breast Cancer Prevention and Treatment Month program on Sichuan TV's "Anti-Cancer Lecture Hall". Additionally, on the afternoon of October 29, Sichuan Cancer Hospital held a publicity and patient care event in the breast surgery ward.
25. Enteral Nutrition Preparation Room at Clinical Nutrition Department of Sichuan Cancer Hospital Officially in Use
After preliminary preparation, the Enteral Nutrition Preparation Room at Sichuan Cancer Hospital is now officially in use. The Enteral Nutrition Preparation Room is located on the 3rd floor of the Outpatient Building in Tianfu Campus, with the core area having a cleanliness rating of 100,000. The standardized and scientific enteral nutrition therapy provides effective support for patients with insufficient oral intake or impaired digestion and absorption, helping shorten hospital stays and enhance recovery while improving patients' quality of life by offering professional, reasonable, and effective nutritional support treatment.
